How Rent Payment Works
Right now, payments are made directly to your landlord using whatever method they prefer — for example, check, bank transfer, or another arrangement you’ve agreed on. Online payment through the portal (paying by card or bank transfer inside the app) is not available yet.
The portal’s job today is to show you a clear, accurate picture of what you owe: your current balance, every charge, and every payment your landlord has recorded.
Paying Your Landlord
- Check your current balance on your dashboard or Statement page so you know the amount due.
- Pay your landlord using the method they’ve asked you to use.
- Your landlord records the payment, and it appears on your Statement.
If you’re not sure how your landlord wants to receive rent, send them a message through the portal (see Messages) or contact them directly.
Viewing Your Balance
Your dashboard shows your current balance at a glance. A positive balance means you owe rent or other charges; a zero balance means you’re paid up.
For the full breakdown, open your Statement page. It lists every charge (rent, fees) and every payment, in date order, so the balance is always traceable.
You’ll also get an email automatically when rent is charged, and a reminder by email if you have an outstanding balance, so it’s easy to stay on top of what’s due.
Payment History
Viewing Past Payments
Your complete history is on the Statement page. Each entry shows:
- Date
- Amount
- A description of the charge or payment
Finding a Specific Entry
Use the date filter on the Statement page to narrow the view to a specific time period. If a payment you made isn’t showing, your landlord may not have recorded it yet — give it a little time, then reach out through Messages if you still don’t see it.
Questions About a Charge
If a charge looks wrong, or a payment you made isn’t reflected, the fastest way to resolve it is to message your landlord directly through the portal. Your statement and message history give both of you a shared, accurate record to work from.
